Castle

The view of the castle in Muiden, we got there pretty easily after a late start. this picture doesn't show the moat and draw bridge, but it was there.

The arch way that leads to the garden in front of the castle, it was so mesmerising that Jake couldn't close his mouth.

Picture of a tree "thing" in the middle of the garden, it was set up so that it gave shade along with looking great.

Park and Chess

Me and Zach on a play structure in Oosterpark in Amsterdam. There were many toy structures that would never ever be allowed in the U.S.

Jake in front of the giant chess board that we spent a lot of time near. Met many interesting people and some travellers from the US.

Day 4: Zwolle

The campsite in Zwolle where we spent our last night on the bike trip. It was a "luxury" campsite with a playground and lake.

The site that we slept our last night, we slept through a thunderstorm and it was not a pleasant night. In the morning everything was wet and muddy.

Day 3: Kampen

The place where we waited for 30 minutes, Jake put the team on his back and found a lady who called the owner on his cell phone and he came and got us a place to stay. The guy was near by but he was swimming and he was the first person we saw that wore clogs.

Day 2: Giethoorn

A lady at a hotel referred us to a couple that rent out a room of their house to travellers and it was a great stay. This is the room that Zach stayed in, it had a lot of flowers.

The living area of the room that was rented, had a t.v. and some comfortable chairs.

The second bed that we had, a lot more comfortable than Zach's.

Night 1: Dwingeloo

Zach and Jake in front of the tents in the wet weather in Dwingeloo on our first night.

Me and Jake looking on our great job of putting the tents up in less time than Zach.

On the Train to Beilen

Jake and Zach inside the train after the ride in the rain. it was a bad day to start off our trip, but it got much better.

Our packed bikes on the train, it was harder to take them out then put them on the train.

After getting drenched from head to toe, changed my shirt and set everything out to dry.

Last Day at Grandma Irene's...Our Rooms

Jake in his room packing before the bike trip that we begin tomorrow. Jake's room is looking like a mess.

Zach sitting on the couch in his room enjoying the last night in his bed before we have to sleep on the ground.

Me in my room, the bed was really comfortable and it felt like home. was a real memorable stay and definitely better than any expensive hotel we would have been forced to stay at.

The Pier in Scheviningen

Me and Zach standing in front of the way to the boardwalk, went at the right time, we saw the sunset a little bit.

Me and Zach in the "thinking pose" looking on the the Kurhaus and the boardwalk. The pier was nice and Jake took a nice photograph here.

Grandma Irene on the pier at Scheviningen, the lighting is really nice and again props to Jake for the photo. This is the first picture of Grandma Irene on the blog!

Zach and Jake on the pier, backs to the sunset. the trip was really nice cause we didn't have to bike, which it would have probably taken us more than 3 hours.

The view of the sunset from the pier, it was beautiful and we were really glad that we go to see it.

The Car and the Kurhaus

We went to scheviningen in that small Toyota iQ, we all fit and although it looks tiny on the outside it was not as cramped on the inside.

Me and Jake in the Kurhaus' dining room, the ceiling was just beautiful.

Zach is just in awe of the ceiling, have to see it in person, it just isn't the same in a photo.

The ceiling was absolutely amazing, i think my jaw just straight dropped. there are really no words to describe it, but it was really nice.

Jake was just getting in all kinds of trouble, getting locked in an entrance is just the surface. I was the nice guy and let him out.

Mauritshuis and Torture Museum

Went to the Mauritshuis Museum, which is a palace full of art, no photography was allowed so no pictures were taken there. all the art was amazing and really memorable, but unfortunately we have no remains of that part of our trip.

Well after that we went to the "Torture Museum", but it was more of a tour of how prisoners were kept and such. zach looks like he's getting arrested and i'm just binded by the hands, zach made it look realistic, but i'm still smiling.

Me and zach heading in opposite directions, when it's come to finding our way that has happened frequently. we were in the process of walking around the central shopping part of den Hague.

Me walking toward the place were we ate a croquet, it was delicious, but had an interesting texture.

Kijkduin

Me sitting and waiting for the Poffertjes right after we got to Kijkduin.

Zach sitting and enjoying the Poffertjes. "Better be the spawn of Jesus Christ" -Zachary Radov

Jake is really enjoying the Poffertjes, never seen him eat so fast!

Picture of what the Poffertjes look like, it was really delicious. I can say it was sorta worth the 3 hour bike ride to get there. Would i do the bike ride again? Probably not....

Madurodam

Picture of us three in the reflection of a building. picture credit to Jake.

Me and Zach on the bridge....even when it was scaled down it looked pretty big.

Picture of us in front of the complex, the picture was taken on a timer...pretty good if i say so myself.

Jake looking at the camera, but Zach fell asleep in front of the windmill.

Zach looking at his gigantic feet...i don't think that that is healthy.

Trying to walk in the wooden shoes...it was tough. They might have been slightly too big.

Playground

Zach on his favorite swing, i wonder what he'll do when we're back in America.

Jake looking at Zach and giving him a "Zach you're such a child" look, after looking at him on the zipline.

Me and Jake sitting on the rope climbing rig that was next to "Zach's swing".

Jake and Zach at the top of the rig, not for those who are scared of heights.

Apparently the rig could be used as a trampoline too, well sorta....

Swimming

The pool with the current pool and water slide.

The area where people eat snacks and such, but unfortunately it was closed.

Zach standing in front of the eating area as we were leaving the pool.
